Alexis Cormier Headshot

With her perpetual curiosity, sharp analytical skills, cultural fluency, and desire to create meaningful impact, Alexis has explored a vast range of roles in leadership, strategy, business analysis, project management, business development, operations management, and production.  Alexis brings 18+ years of broad project, program, portfolio, and strategic management experience, all centering around development and people.  Alexis’ leadership style is motivating and inspiring and she negotiates group dynamics to unify team visions.  She thrives in team structures and public-facing roles because of her high-sociability and her rich history in performance art makes her a passionate facilitator - navigating complex stakeholder groups is her specialty.

Her best practice management approach gives her a reliable tool kit to respond to the needs of teams and initiatives, ensuring that time and effort is valued and used effectively.  Alexis is a natural problem-solver and blends strategic and evidence-driven methods in approaching critical decision-making.  Ultimately, Alexis is a creative thinker and believes that there can be many successful ways to “get the job done”, and she can build the systems to do so.

Alexis lives where creation and organization collide. She is founder and Director of The Woods, Atlantic Canada’s first and only Professional Hip Hop Dance Company (est 2010).  She is also the Artistic Director of HOME EX ART COLLECTIVE, focused on activating space and conversation around qualitative experiences of trauma and healing, through movement creation and multi-disciplinary artistic research practice and collaboration.  Alexis is a Senior Project Manager with IOTA Institute / Studios where she produces and manages large-scale public art projects and productions.
